Okay, it's time to pimp the Lair because it's in my head and it's not going away so I have to share :)

The Lair
(It amuses me no end that there are three spikes on the logo).

The Lair is a show about vampires made for Here!TV, vampires who live in and run a gay sex club. No, I'm not kidding, it really is :). According to Wikipedia it was orginally supposed to be a direct spin off of "Dante's Cove", a gay supernatural soap by Here!TV, and was called "Dante's Lair", but the direct connection was dropped some time during production. It is possible they are the set in the same place, but no one is completely sure if they are or not ::g::. According to David Moretti (Thom) his character has appeared in Dante's Cove s3 running the Lair (although they did decide to spell it differently acording to IMDB), but until s2 of the Lair we have no idea what the full story is. Maybe it's an alternative universe :P.

Okay, let's be honest here, not the highest production values and not always the greatest acting, but according to Peter Stickles (Damian), they made the whole of the first season in about 11 days, so you have to forgive some things :).

The important points are:
1) It actually has a plot that almost makes sense. There are logical holes, but that's what fanfic is for :)
2) It's very pretty. Half the vampires are semi-naked most of the time and the rest of the male cast seem to have a lot of trouble keeping their clothes on too. There is some lovely boy on boy action.

The Characters
Let's do the residents of the Lair first :)

DamianDamian
So Damian is the big bad and is the leader of the coven of vampires in the Lair. He's at least a couple of centuries old as proved by the flash back with the worst wigs since Highlander flashbacks. He's ruthless, powerful and very cute :).

Played by Peter Stickles, who gave a fabulous interview about the show here.
ColinColin
Colin is Damian's second in command. We don't find out much about his past and about the only things we definitely know about him is that he and Damian are shagging (but then most of the characters are doing that) and he has designs on Damian's position as top dog.

Played by Dylan Vox
EricEric
Eric isn't a vamp to begin with, but since he's eaten in about the first scene I don't think it really counts as a spoiler :). Dear chap gets a lot of sex.

Played by Michael Von Steele
FrankieFrankie
Now Frankie isn't a vamp at all, he just wants to be ... most of the time. He's the human janitor at the Lair and get abused by Colin and Damian at times. He wants to be a vamp, but also can't take the killing that is going on and hence starts the whole plot by talking to Thom.

Played by Brian Nolan

Now the non-residents of the Lair

Thom and JonathanThom
Our lead non-vamp protagonist, Thom is a reporter and Frankie starts the whole plot by coming to him and telling him that he should investigate the Lair if he wants to know about the John Doe murders. Thom is shacked up with Jonathan and good friends with Laura who works with him at the paper.

Played by David Moretti who has a fabulous Youtube account here.

Jonathan
Thom's paranoid and jealous boyfriend who sees Frankie meet with Thom and goes off on one. After the gratuitous watching Thom in the shower (very pretty) they have an argument and Jonathan storms off to the Lair and gets himself attacked. He spends quite a lot of season 1 in a coma :).

Played by Jesse Cutlip
LauraLaura
Thom very good friend and token female :). She is in an abusive relationship with Jimmy. She helps Thom try and figure out what's going on with Jonathan and gives him a hand investigating the Lair. Even though she is the token female, she is definitely not a bit part character and is very important to the plot.

Played by Beverly Lynne
Sheriff TroutSheriff Trout
The confused, but resolute sheriff. He's investigating the John Doe murders and because Jonathan is found in similar conditions, but alive, he's very interested in finding out what happened. He of course is very skeptical that anything supernatural is going on, even after the body gets up from the morgue.

Played by Colton Ford
Dr BelmontDr Belmont
The doctor at the hospital who is treating Jonathan and ends up in the middle of everything. He's the wise sage character in it all and is trying to explain everything scientifically.

Played by Arthur Roberts
JimmyJimmy
Laura's abusive boyfriend who seems to only be there to be very annoying and to move the plot along at one certain point which I will not give away.

Played by Evan Stone
