( A Sandwich Short of a Picnic )

Here are 4 drabbles in 4 different fandoms for Halloween.

Title: Trolls
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: PG

No matter what, at Halloween, Harry always thinks of trolls. A troll is not something you forget and it was his first real memory of Halloween. Of course there are other recollections too, but that is the easiest one. Draco insists on throwing a huge party every year and ever since they got married everyone who is anyone turns up.

This year they even have a troll. Not a real one, but it is animated. It makes Harry smile and not think of other things and he rewards Draco with many kisses. When it chases Ron, Harry can't help laughing.


Title: Not Forgotten
Fandom: Marvel Movies

Loki wrapped his cloak around himself and sunk into shadow. He was not sure why he had come to Midgard, only that he had followed a whim. Thor loved these mortal ants and Loki was curious.

The way they celebrated their feast of Halloween was almost charming.

He was watching a small vampire demand gifts when something caught his eye: golden horns. For a moment he was struck speechless, then he laughed. He was no longer forgotten, it seemed, as a small boy proudly announced he was Loki of Asgard, even if he was a monster instead of a god.


Title: The Real Thing

Real vampires on Halloween was just his luck. Oh and there was nothing romantic about being bitten; it hurt, a lot. Stiles had screamed as soon as teeth had met flesh, but there was no one to hear him. He was going to die and there was nothing he could do about it.

Being suddenly thrown forward was unexpected and jarring and all he could do was lie there in a dazed heap, listening to loud, vicious snarling.

"Stiles."

"Derek?"

The last thing he expected was Derek gently helping him up.

"I missed you," he said and gracelessly passed out.


Title: Not Dead Then

John opened the front door and just stared.

"You're very solid for a ghost," was what he decided to say.

"You are the third person to make such a ridiculous statement," Sherlock replied; "what is it about Halloween that brings out the idiot in people?"

"Not dead then," John concluded and turned, leaving the door open behind him.

"You are not reacting how I calculated," Sherlock said, following him in.

"Shock," John replied, "I'll be very angry later. Would you like a cup of tea?"

"Yes," Sherlock replied. "Should I get you a blanket?"

That made John laugh; definitely Sherlock.

Meant to post this here ages ago and totally forgot. I actually made this two weeks ago for moonlettuce's BBQ :). This is a repost from Tumblr.

So I made something this week (with some help from my husband who is very handy with a spray can and an extra set of hands).

I used this youtube vid tutorial as a basis, but did things a little differently in places.

The gem is an emergency light and whistle covered in string, spray painted and then shoved up the backside of two clear halves of an alien egg toy (they were a quid in Range), glued together (I used seriously strong super glue and left to dry for 24hrs rather than hot glue for this), coloured in with a blue sharpie and then Dremeled off at the end.

The rod is a broomstick handle (£2.49 in Range), cut to length and then covered in construction foam (£1 a sheet from Range - only needed one large one) and masking tape just like the video says. I couldn't get 1/4inch construction foam, so I used a bedding roll mat (£3.49 again from Range). I didn't hand paint though like it says in the vid, I used craft spray paint (the most expensive part of the build at £5 a can).

The blade is mostly done the same way as the tutorial using foam board and hot glue, but again I spray painted it. Hence I didn't attach the blade until after everything was painted, rather than painting it in one.

The masking tape you can see on the blade is because I could only get A3 foam board at a reasonable price (on offer from Amazon) so I had to join two pieces together. I did this with cocktail stick stubs, hot glue and a bit of tape to make sure it couldn't come apart.

I created a template for the blades by tracing over an image of the sceptre. This is what I came up with. It's not the right size, so anyone who wants to use it will have to resize it to fit and adjust the parts that attach to the shaft because I'm pretty sure no two sceptres will be the same, but it might be useful so here it is.

It was a lot of fun, but  two pairs of hands make it a lot easier some times and it takes a very steady hand for trimming the blade so the edges look sharp, so having someone else to help is really useful.

It didn't take a genius to realise what had happened.

"Are you hurt?" he asked Jane, even as he surveyed the damage to Loki.

"Yes," he finally said and Stark grinned at him.

The sex had been mind-blowing and the image of Loki with his head between Pepper's thighs would stay with Tony for many, many years, but that wasn't why he was asking and Pepper, naturally, knew it.

"If he wants to," she said giving him a very serious look, "of course we can."

That was what he loved about Pepper, she understood him perfectly.

Loki was good at feigning sleep. He had done so on many hunting trips with Thor and his friends; it was a good way to avoid awkward situations.

When he heard Tony speak his heart thudded in his chest and Pepper's answer almost caused him to give himself away. He had underestimated humans so completely and he could not believe what he was being offered.

He knew all too well that relationships built on lies were fatally flawed and so he slowly opened his eyes.

"I would not be averse," he said and somehow found the courage to look up.

P.S. Sorry, you have to wait until 25th for the actual sex scene - 100 wds is just not enough to do any of them justice ;) Now you have something to look forward to after the apocalypse ... I was sure there was something else significant on the 25th as well .... hmmm ... I'm sure it'll come back to me ;P.
