"Charles."

Erik's worried voice dragged him from darkness and his first thought was 'he came back.' What surprised him was waking up on the inside of the wrecked jet with extremely anxious blue green eyes all but glaring at him.

"What happened?" he asked.

"I killed Shaw," he saw guilt in Erik's eyes, "and then I heard you screaming."

Charles realised with relief it had been a pain induced dream, but as he sent his mind out he realised it was not completely false.

"Missiles," he said; "you have to stop them."

He would not make the same mistake twice.
