Naked men!
Jan. 9th, 2012 04:22 pmI'm coming to an inescapable conclusion - naked men on covers sell books. I wonder if I could get away with a naked man on Cat's Call ... I mean they do get naked ... for entirely non-sexual reasons of course ... ;)
I'm joking, but I am going to redo the cover for "Chip Off the Old Block?" so that it has at least semi-naked men on it. It did it in cont. fantasy style, but I think it should definitely be in paranormal romance style instead.
I can do it at the same time I do the cover for the sequel to Forgotten Soul

Fantasy = contemporary fantasy and when I did the cover there are two fashions, tall heroic type figure or title and author's name with some sort of icon between them. Since "Chip Off the Old Block?" was my first cover I went with the icon route because it was the easiest, but these days I'm happy to try anything. I tend to go to Google, find an image with the pose I want and then illustrate with it as a guide. My cover for "Forgotten Soul" was actually a semi-clad woman on a chair and I changed her into a him, put him on a bed, added some drapery then drew it :). I find it's the quickest way to make the poses look realistic.
