beren_writes: Loki smiling with the words "Sweet and innocent ... honestly" (Avengers - Loki sweet and innocent)
Woot!

I mean that deserves a post all on it's own, right? :)

So many trousers on the high street these days do not take into account that larger sizes mean the body in them is going to be a different shape. I have an arse, it needs somewhere to fit into :D.

Marks and Spenser straight leg joggers are awesome - not only do they come in many lengths, but they take into account the rear end too. They don't have pockets, but then you can't have everything ;).

More Dreams

My dreams last night were not as interesting as the night before, but then I didn't actually get that much sleep - too hot!

They did involve Ghostbusters - so win - but the only bit I remember was something to do with a college ladies loo at some kind of convention. Not exactly hard hitting, exciting stuff :).

Chicken Shawarma

I made chicken schawama for dinner last night from this recipe: Chicken shawarma flatbreads with yogurt recipe. It was delicious and perfect for the end of a really hot day. I used low fat yogurt and wholemeal wraps as well, so it was good for us too. Rob ate 2.5 wraps and they weren't little wraps either, so he really liked it. First time I have used sumac as a spice - yummy.

I'm having fond Avengers memories now :).

beren_writes: Adam Lambert from before Idol with eyes lit up (al - eyes on the prize)
Yesterday it was bright and sunny in the morning and I bounced out of bed ready to face the world. This morning it is grey and uck and my brain is like 'Give me a minute, jeez, what is your problem?!'

I was also having the weirdest dream before waking up. I was watching them make American Idol, only it looked more like a bad UK panto and was about as organised. Oh and my friend Janet was one of the competitors.

At first the contestants were random and the judges had this electronic judging system where they sat in booths like game show contestants or something, that all failed. Then Adam Lambert showed up (I know why he was in the dream at least - I watched his #ItGotBetter vid yesterday :)) and he was kind of a contestant, but not.
Adam Lambert

Kris Allen wasn't there, he was off doing something where he was pretending to be old and walking with a stick. I told you it was weird.

As I woke up the contestants were trying to find costumes for something to do with a Thor musical number. So far they had a plastic helmet with bad pigtails attached to it. Oh and someone was complaining that they only brought Adam back to fix the result. No, I have no idea either!

Yesterday I was pootling around IMDB, as you do, and I found a list of cancelled TV shows - recent ones (well 2009 onwards at least). A good half of them I'd never heard of and they sounded interesting - this is so unfair. It seems like so often dross gets made and good stuff gets canned.

One I did used to watch was The Finder - I loved it. For those unaware, it was a Bones spinoff about an Iraq war vet who suffered a brain injury that makes him an amazing finder of people and things. Only problem is, it also left him with a compulsion - if he accepts a case, he can't stop until he finds what he's looking for.
The Finder

It had some great plots, quirky characters and Michael Clarke Duncan (RiP). What was not to love?

How easy was it for you to wake up this morning? It is bright and sunny with you or grey and miserable? Did you see The Finder? Any analysis of my American Idol dream? :)

I as having the most bizarre dreams all night, but I think one of them might make a good story - so there is that :) Thank you brain for the inspiration, but a quiet night's sleep would also be appreciated!

The whole schedule thing is still working, yesterday I managed to turn out:
  • 2 blog posts,
  • the preparation for another blog post
  • half a different short story from day 1 that I intend to try and finish today
  • half a chapter on my current WiP novel
If I keep this up I'll have the novel finished by the end of the month since it's been almost done for a while now. It would be nice to get it into the editing stage.

I am so glad I have Buffer as well - it means I can schedule a whole day of tweets and then not worry about it. Well unless I see something really interesting fly past on Tweetdeck :).

Does anyone remember Misfits of Science? I never realised it was a TV series when I first saw it because over in the UK we only ever got the movie, which was actually the pilot. I was going through some old VHS tapes and found it :) It was one of those Soph and I picked up from the second hand bin at Blockbuster I think :)
Misfits of Science

I may have to go check out Youtube to see if anyone has uploaded it ... ohh, I just discovered it's finally available on DVD. Hmm ... but having never seen the series I don't know if it's worth the price. Anyone see it? Was it good or bad?

Had any good dreams lately? What do you think happened to Amelia Earhart? (in case you are wondering, this is a Misfits of Science reference - I'm not quite that random ;)).

I had a really weird dream last night, not bad, just utterly bizarre.

Anyone remember the Not Quite Human Movies from the 80s based on the books.

Well I watched a bit of one of them last night and, in case you don't know, the movies are about a genius professor who builds his daughter a big brother android called Chip. Now Chip is nice and gentle and basically a Disney character like you'd expect.

I'm mentioning this because he was in my dream, dressed in a US army tan uniform along with Black Widow. They were in this pool of thick black something and they were fighting against Guy Pierce who was also in a tan uniform, but had the haircut he had in Neighbours as Mike, rather than anything like he was in Iron Man 3.

Chip was just standing there watching as Black Widow kicked the crap out of Guy with the inane look on his face he tended to have.

Then Guy dared to shoot Black Widow through the shoulder.

Chip then went bonkers and proceeded to rip Guy apart from the mouth down as if he was made of playdough. Guy just kind of crumpled like he didn't have a skeleton or anything.

I told you, weird.

Job done Chip and Black Widow climbed out of the goop and were completely clean and went to have breakfast.

... and when I say weird, I mean weird.

It started off as your standard zombie dream - running to escape zombies (and they were bloody fast zombies too). Nothing really odd about that, bit of an anxiety dream, but as they go it wasn't too horrid. However, then it took on a plot. Turned out me and someone were cornered by the zombies, but they weren't mindless individuals; they had a society and everything and it was actually better being a zombie. So we surrendered and got turned.

Then for some reason I vanished from the plot and was just observing the dream.

Turns out there are alpha zombies - did you know that? No, neither did I, but yep, zombies have a hierarchy and the most badass ones are alphas (possibly I have read too much Teenwolf fanfic lately ;)). And then this is the best part. Wanna know who my friend and apparently alpha zombie turned out to be ... da, da, da ... Adam Lambert.

No I don't know why Adam Lambert turned up in my zombie dream either, but he was badass and very nice for a zombie, so it turned out not to be such a bad dream after all :).
