Some of you have met Levi and some of you probably have no idea who I'm talking about, but this is Levi:

His favourite place on my mouse

His favourite drink - cold tea

He was getting on a bit and was a tad scrawny because of hyperthyroid (the pills were working but not fast), but he was our lovely kitty no matter how scruffy he looked. He died this morning from what we think were a couple of massive strokes. He was his old self just last night, so at least it wasn't a long drawn out illness - he hated being ill.

To all those who are celebrating today

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you all have a wonderful day with lots of things to be thankful for.

Happy 4th July

Speculoos on crusty white bread with lashing of (light) butter like spread ... heaven.

Also, James McAvoy is adorable and hilarious. After his antics at the Empire Awards I find myself giggling at the most random moments just from thinking about it. In case you missed it, when asked about X-men FC and the chemistry between himself and Michael Fassbender, his response was (and I kid you not): "We had sex every morning and that helped, y'know."

Empire did not manage to produce a photo of the two together, however, well unless they plan on springing it on us at a later date.

James also needs Tom Hiddleston to teach him how to tie a tie - see.

And no, that wasn't just a feeble excuse to post pictures of two of my favourite actors ... not at all ;).

For those who also missed it, Tom Hiddleston won Best Male Newcomer at the Empire Awards and then proceeded to apologise for being the oldest nominee in his acceptance speech. He really is adorable, just like James.

I'm supposed to be working on the cover for my new short story, but I might actually be making a Muppet Avengers poster with Loki bang in the middle. This is all Tom Hiddleston's fault. I do, however, look on it as practising my Photoshop skills and that's the excuse I'm sticking to. Everyone else can see Miss Piggy as Black Widow, right?

Wow, I was having weird dreams last night. Something to do with a doctors office I think and then going somewhere else and I'm pretty sure there was a chase of some kind. The details are murky now. However, Tom Hiddleston was in it, so I count it as a win :D.

I keep eyeing the Captain America Blu-ray on Amazon. I already caved and bought the Thor one. The problem with CA was I put it on my wishlist before Christmas and it disappeared off it, but I never got it. So I'm wondering if something went wrong, or if I have a relation out there I only see once a year who will suddenly produce it out of the blue (this has happened before - I have two copies of some DVDs to prove it :)). I may just go 'screw it' and buy it anyway next month, because my mummy is giving me an Amazon voucher for Easter - patience, thy name is not Tasha! ;)

For those who missed it yesterday, my new book Cat's Creation Cat's Creation by Natasha Duncan-Drake is out. It's the sequel to Cat's Call Cat's Call by Natasha Duncan-Drake and it's novel length (~68K), YA, contemporary fantasy. Lots of magic and adventure for all ages to enjoy.

My husband is entirely corrupted by "the slash". I mean I've known for a long time I had him at least partially corrupted, ever since he tried slashing Pooh and Piglet in his head, but I now have irrefutable proof.

He's doing the last read through of my new novel "Cat's Creation" for me (should be out next week) since he's very good at finding the bits that don't make sense unless you have all the canon in your head. He always forgets the details, so he's the perfect sounding board :).

Last night after he'd read a couple of chapters he wanted to know where the missing chapter was - the one where Charlie and Alexander had sex. He's slashing my characters in his head, my life's work is complete - LOL.

For those who haven't read "Cat's Call" and know nothing about Charlie and Alexander, Alexander does happen to be gay, but Charlie is a slightly geeky straight boy I just like putting in awkward situations :).

Saw "The Woman in Black" again last night - just as scary as the first time, only I made myself watch all the bits where I was hiding behind my jacket last time :). Dan really does a fabulous job of carrying the movie and each shot is so beautifully framed.

I now have the urge to run off and write a shit scary short story.

Also saw "Holy Flying Circus" this week - Rob saw it on the plane, but missed the end so wanted to see it. Very funny. It's about the release of "Life of Brian" in case anyone was wondering and the actors portraying the Pythons are hilarious.

Having the Dyson fixed today so that is doesn't sound like a banshee anymore. The service person is supposed to be coming by before 1pm.

Soph ([personal profile] thwax) has done a great post on the Paypal issue regarding them demanding that sellers not sell certain kinds of erotica. Censorship – credit card companies are burning our books. I was going to do one of my own, but basically my stance is, 'what she says'. There is also a petition here to try and stop it, because if we let what is essentially a bank dictate content what will be next to go? Personal morals aside, whether you want to read about this stuff or not, it's legal and hence no one has a right to force a ban. Individual retailers have a right to decide what they sell, but not be forced into it by a payment provider.

My Loki obsession is still going strong. I've gone from someone who didn't care that the Avengers movie was coming out, to someone who wants to see it NOW ... well except for the fact that I have a fic brewing and I want to finish that first before its Jossed. I have over 300 piccies in my Avengers folder already and most of those are Tom Hiddleston. I also love the fact that he has a twitter and is not afraid to use it :). He comes across as a genuinely nice chap.

As [personal profile] temaris pointed out, the new poster for Avengers, which in the UK is now called Avengers Assemble, is somewhat lacking in aesthetic beauty. Frankly it looks like it was put together by the intern and it has pretty people in it they seem to think that makes it okay. It doesn't have Loki though, so I protest - strongly!

Sorry I've been mostly AFK for the last week and a half; my shoulder was really giving me trouble. Last week I could barely sit at the computer at all and this week I couldn't type for more than a few minutes at a time without there being significant pain. However, I believe it's finally on the mend. I can actually type today without having to stop every five mins - yay! Still can't do the two covers I need to do because using the stylus at that angle would be a really bad idea, but I can get back to sorting out "Cat's Creation".

I also seem to have developed a small Loki obsession ... okay, it's not that small, in fact I may be working my way through every fic on AO3 that has Loki in it. This obsession is boarding on my Cherik (X-men FC) obsession and my brain is currently trying to merge the two.

Anyone have any Loki fic recs - don't care about the pairing, as long as Loki is in the fic. Happy endings please, though - the ones with angst, angst and more angst or tragedy at the end make my heart ache. I really enjoy the fics where Loki stops being the bad guy and starts to sort out his daddy issues, but that is not a requirement. Loki being bad has appeal too.

I really loved the one where Coulson hired Loki to be a SHIELD agent and had to try and keep the information from everybody, but Loki's idea of covert ops isn't really what anyone else would think and the Avengers start getting bored because he's too good at the job. It was pure genius and the one where Loki's magic goes out of control when he had hiccups is hilarious. The one where he falls to earth and ends up living with a human family whose town is overrun by magic that no one seems to notice is also absolutely fantastic. So much great fic - kept me entertained while I couldn't type :).

Links to the fics I mentioned all on AO3:
"The Undercover Boogie"
The Hiccups
Family Ties *be aware, this had 37 chapters and you will not be able to stop reading, so make sure you have time :)*

My shoulder is playing silly buggers again. I think it must have been all the use of the crutch when walking in London at the weekend. It hurts down from my ear and all along my right shoulder.

I was supposed to be doing Soph's new cover today, but I can't reach out my arm to use the tablet. It is most annoying. It kept me awake half of last night as well so my brain is at half power today. More aspirin in a little while I think.

Hopefully if I rest it, it will sort itself out soon.

Be you attached or single and of whatever orientation, I hope you have a good day full of happiness and love (be it agape, philia or eros).

Rob and I headed up to London on Friday for a long weekend to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Please bear with me while I squee about everything :).

Friday: cookies, British museum part1, wonderful gnocchi, Tom Hiddleston and erotica )

Saturday: British Museum part 2, Wagamamas, Forbidden Planet, Rock of Ages and the bar incident that shall not be named )

Sunday: National Gallery and Odette's )

Which brings us to today. Breakfast was back to the good standard of Saturday, so we think Sunday may have been an aberration. We did a bit of shopping and then came home on the train. For the record I hate Oxford Street.

It was a magnificent weekend and my wonderful husband organised the whole thing. I am so very lucky to have him.

We're getting Sky broadband *does happy dance*. This may seem insignificant to most, but I live in a little village in Kent, we couldn't get decent broadband that didn't cost quite a lot more and was throttled and significantly bandwidth limited because out exchange wasn't unbundled. It was finally upgraded at the new year and now we can get unlimited broadband - woohoo.

This is a heads up to say the change over should happen on Monday 6th, so if I vanish off the face of the planet for a while, this is why. Hopefully it should all go smoothly and there should be no downtime, but I don't trust ISPs as far as I can throw them, so, yeah, this.

I have realised recently that my flists on LJ and Dreamwidth are both very diverse and so I was curious. If you have a couple of seconds, would you mind telling me about your OTPs. Threesomes or
just being into gen is okay too - just fill in the box how you see fit.

Many thanks.

I might possibly have just bought tickets to see Tom Hiddleston read erotic fiction on stage and it's all [livejournal.com profile] moonlettuce's fault.

She linked to this:
http://subtle-sarcasm.tumblr.com/post/16182207133/nun-gun-tom-hiddleston-to-participate-in
and I clicked on it, and it turned out to be Friday the 10th which is the weekend Rob and I were planning to go to London to celebrate our wedding anniversary (15th) and now I have tickets.

Anyone else going?

Just had to change all my ftp user passwords on Dreamhost. It's all in the name of security and Dreamhost are very good about stuff like that, but it was a pain.

Problem is I have 19 ftp users :) - it's okay for people with two or three!

I've been so busy with trying to finish things off the last week that I haven't had time to do a 2011 round up post. So let's see, what did I do in 2011.

Well I published 3 novels.
Cat's Call (sequel coming soon - planned for Feb)
Sacrifice of an Angel (this is the one Soph and I wrote together - it has twins :)).
Advent (this is the new one - bet you couldn't tell it was a vampire novel :)).

Also published several short stories.
Three Bullets (espionage meets m/m romance)
Chip Off the Old Block? (the anti-christ is in a bit of a bind - m/m erotic comedy - FREE)
Forgotten Soul (erotic vampire tale, FREE, sequel coming soon)
Face of the Dead (ghost story horror with some m/m thrown in)

Started an exercise regime - as Rob puts it, I cycle to work every day :). For those who don't get it, I work from home and have an exercise bike in the study ::g::.

Gained a new fandom: X-men First Class, thank you [personal profile] moonlettuce. Wrote some fic in it and created some art, most of which is not finished yet, but you can see my efforts under this tag (LJ, click) ( DW tag)

Wrote some HP fic, several of which are crossover, that may be seen at this tag [DW tag] (not many entries, so scroll down to see all).

Wrote some Ice Skating RPS which may be found at this tag (DW tag).

Wrote some Adam Lambert fic at this tag (DW tag)

Wrote some Sherlock fic at this tag (DW tag)

Wrote some other random things for mmom at this tag (I just realised I haven't cross posted any of these to DW yet ... oops)

Resigned from being choir mistress at Chilham, which is just going to be plain weird. My dear Papa was the vicar there, but he retired as of 31st of Dec and it would be kind of awkward to stay. Soph and I have offered to go sing at weddings etc if they need us, but I have handed over the reigns to others now.

Created a new blog for reviews and writing stuff: Tasha's Thinkings - although I suspect I shall crosspost most things here as well. If you have a Google account it's very easy to follow the blog, or there's a follow by email option as well, just in case. I promise not the spam that blog with random crap ;).

I can't really think of anything else to say. If I remember more I shall come add it :).

Phew!

Well apart from the first year of MMOM and the advent drabbles, all fics on Dreamwidth are now tagged.

Since every chaptered fic now has a tag to link them together this should hopefull make redoing all the links in them easier. (I live in hope :)).

Wow, does this reorganisation thing take a huge amount of time.
Of course if I wasn't an idiot I'd have done it all on my LJ and then only had to do it once.

I'm sure once I have it all organised here my little amount of OCD is going to demand I do it over there as well. :D
